Introduction to Entrepreneurship

For aspiring entrepreneurs, we've created Introduction to Entrepreneurship: a practical, hands-on approach to learning business fundamentals.

Start something great. We're here to help.

You’ve been thinking about starting your own business, but don’t know where to begin. You have product ideas, but aren't sure whether there’s a market for them. You need some business training, but don't need an MBA, and aren't ready or looking for an investment-driven business incubator. You need something more approachable, more entry-level. This is it.

One curriculum, three ways to begin.

We designed Introduction to Entrepreneurship for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to ground themselves in business basics and solid fundamentals. When you're ready to begin, we're ready to help.

The Workshop

Put yourself in a room with like-minded folks, and get your business idea out of your head. If you're searching for business fundamentals and want to work hands-on alongside fellow entrepreneurs, our Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshop is the perfect way to begin.

The Starter Kit

For some of us, taking action takes shape with solo studying and exploring. But to keep those early steps pointed in the right direction, it helps to have a roadmap. That's why we built a Starter Kit — a resource you can take home, designed for self-starters who want some direction and inspiration.

Online Resources

We've been teaching aspiring entrepreneurs like you for several years. Along the way, we've developed some useful tools and gained a lot of valuable insight, and we've made a handful of our favorite resources available online, for free.

Entrepreneurship training, for the rest of us.

We built Introduction to Entrepreneurship as a business training program for aspiring entrepreneurs. We teach business fundamentals — customer development, branding essentials and basic financials, among other things — with a welcoming, hands-on and human approach.

It starts with you.

We believe that work has to work, for you, and for your family. That's why we not only teach practical skills required for professional success, but teach people to honestly assess what it takes to do independent work sustainably and successfully. Introduction to Entrepreneurship begins with an honest look at you, your life, and your how entrepreneurship can affect and change both. After all, you are the foundation of everything you hope to build.

Fundamentals first.

Before you can achieve business success on any level, you must grasp the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Incorporating simple, easy-to-understand language, we introduce the basics — core concepts like customer development and financial modeling — in a format that's approachable and hands-on. It’s a great first step for entrepreneurs who need a solid foundation in business basics.

Community effort.

Entrepreneurship is a team effort, and successful starters need a strong network of support from like-minded folks. Introduction to Entrepreneurship encourages you to rely on those around you, and to connect with your local community of fellow self-starters. Whether you connect with us online as you begin working on your business at home, or you join us in person for a workshop, you'll have The Skillery on your side.

Start small.

Great work, and great businesses, are the product of proactive people taking action in the direction of their dreams. No more thinking. No more dreaming. It's time to take action — to get that idea out of your head and into the world. We've designed Introduction to Entrepreneurship to be an action-driven first step toward bringing your business idea to life.
