Letterpress Workshop: Business Cards

In this six hour workshop you will learn the basics of letterpress printing by designing, typesetting and printing an edition of 50 personalized business cards.  You will work from the shop’s collection of antique wood and metal type, as well as from an assortment of image blocks to create a unique design, all typeset by hand.

*If you have a logo we can have a plate made for an additional $35. Artwork needed 10 days in advance.

About the Teacher:
Both Nieves and Chris share an immense love of printmaking. They run Sawtooth Print Shop, a letterpress design studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Nieves worked at Hatch Show Print for 5 years and brought her knowledge of the craft to the shop as well as her background in graphic design. Nieves and Chris met at Hatch while Chris was doing an internship at the historic printshop. They both teach community education classes in printmaking at Watkins College of Art. They opened Sawtooth Print Shop in July 2012 and haven't looked back.
