About Office Hours:
On Friday mornings, we invite Skillery members and friends in for an educational component we call Office Hours. Each week, a local or visiting pro — from content creators to PR veterans to busy shop owners — will meet, greet, share valuable biz wisdom and answer your questions, in a casual group setting. It’s our weekly get together with local professionals, and you’re invited.
About the Host:
In 2013, Brian left his corporate job as an Accounting Manager and started Moyer Financial Services in downtown Franklin. He wanted to focus on helping entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners with their unique accounting needs. In two short years MFS has attracted over 75 consistent clients who utilize one of MFS’ three monthly packages (http://www.moyerfinancialservices.com/services-2/) or a customized relationship to suit their needs.
MFS clients are leaders in a wide range of industries including trade, manufacturing, information, financial, business, health, pyrotechnic, film, and music. Brian’s company can offer as much or as little as a business owner needs – from basic bookkeeping to full accounting management, from QuickBooks training to launch strategies for start-ups. In the tax arena, Brian’s wife, co-owner Carla Moyer, CPA, helps their clients with sales tax, payroll taxes, quarterly estimated payments, and personal and business annual tax returns.
Brian has worked his business from the ground up. The company’s success has been substantial: MFS quickly shifted from working solely out of his home office into a large office on Main Street in Historic Downtown Franklin that holds a growing team of employees.
Brian is passionate about his company; knowing that their unique above-and-beyond bookkeeping and accounting services allow creative and small business owners the time and mental space to focus on what they do best. Brian describes his business model as simple and sincere: “We just come to the conversation as honest people looking for ways to help others. People are smart enough to recognize a sales pitch or inauthentic angles. They just want ‘real’ and we provide that.”
In addition to direct mentoring and account managing, Brian enjoys speaking engagements and leading exclusive training sessions that engage and assist small business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
