3 QUESTIONS WITH SHAWN
Is there a person (or persons) you can point to who really influenced your entrepreneurial journey?
“It's a long list, starting with my first boss after graduating university – the president of the software training company I went to work for. He taught me a great deal. It took years for me to realize how much soaked in, but I look back now and am grateful for what he chose to share with me. Those I most admire in business are self-starters and entrepreneurs. Their courage and tenacity is what inspires me.”
Why were you drawn to coworking?
“For me, it's first and foremost about serendipity. The people I've met, bounced ideas off, collaborated with and even hired have been a real asset to our businesses. Beyond that, the flexibility that The Skillery affords us in terms of space and function is a key reason it works well for BPG.”
Who or what are some of your favorite other independent pros/small businesses in the Nashville area, and why?
“I’m a big fan of what Shane Gibson is building with Skyward Accounting. Finance, bookkeeping and accounting, like legal and other ‘time and materials’-based services, are ripe for reinvention, and Shane is doing just that for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
“Thanks to Beardition's fine products, my beard is in tip-top shape and happy, and I'd be remiss not to call out Steadfast Coffee for taking such good care of us. BPG should have a ‘Powered by Steadfast’ button on our website.”
