At the end of nine weeks of studying, testing, experimenting and collaborating, members of every CO.STARTERS at The Skillery cohort share their businesses with friends, supporters, mentors and members of the community at Pitch Night, a combination entrepreneur spotlight night and graduation party.

In March, our winter 2015 cohort celebrated at their sold-out Pitch Night, sharing businesses they’d further shaped and fine-tuned throughout the program. A small snapshot of some of the inspiring Nashville entrepreneurs and businesses spotlighted at that event:

Amy Nathan, Grex Marketing

“We are a virtual marketing department for businesses who need a modern solution to traditional marketing.”

Emily Marlow, 400 Moons

“400 Moons designs and handcrafts items for your home that are rooted in purpose and beauty. I work primarily in pottery, but also textiles and printmaking.”

Kimberly Lexow and Jessica Legge, Sifted

“We host pop-up lunches as a perk for staff of fast-growing companies.”

Mary Mooney, artist

“I am an abstract artist creating work in all sizes. My work begins on a canvas of museum grade acrylic that I paint and process into different shapes and sizes, from miniature works of Wearable Art jewelry to large format paintings.”

Mandy Pellegrin, Craftcourse

“Craftcourse specializes in handmade decor, backdrops, and installations for memorable, 'share'able events, spaces, and moments.”

All are up to great things since — Sifted has been catering lunches around town for the likes of Emma and Eventbrite (and just earned some SouthernAlpha love), and you can catch Craftcourse’s design work and Mary Mooney’s art at the upcoming summer installment of juried makers market Porter Flea (June 5-6), just for starters.

On Tuesday, June 2, our current cohort — the members of our first CO.STARTERS for Food Entrepreneurs class — will be sharing and celebrating their businesses at their Pitch Night at the Nashville Farmers Market, and we’d love to have you there to learn about their work and cheer them on toward success.

Graduates will share their short pitches, and we’ll sample some of their food and share lots of congratulations. Register (it’s free to attend) here.

Our next general CO.STARTERS session starts up on July 9, and applications are being accepted now. If you’re a budding entrepreneur or you’re chewing on a business idea, take a look at how CO.STARTERS works, and apply for the summer 2015 cohort!
